「Microsoft Responds To Black Myth Wukong Xbox Delay」を編集中
I walked away from Gamescom 2023 having played a ton of great upcoming games, from triple-A juggernauts like Mortal Kombat 1 and Sonic Superstars , to smaller but no less awesome releases like Thank Goodness You’re Here and AK-xolotl. As happy as I was with all I got to see, there was one game that managed to evade my grasp entirely - the Journey to the West-inspired Soulslike, Black Myth: Wuko

Black Myth: Wukong was a standout at Gamescom this year. Public queues regularly exceeded a four-hour wait, when they weren't closed due to reaching capacity, and there was a considerable buzz on the show floor. Brave people camped out at the booth with a sandwich in hand, sat on a camping chair, slowly counting down the hours until they got to play Game Science's upcoming Chinese Mythology-focused Soulsl

The first point that every single person I spoke to was keen to make was just how good Black Myth: Wukong looked. Superlatives such as "amazing", "brilliant" and "super beautiful" were thrown around, and not a single person I spoke to failed to mention the game's visuals. It's also pretty clear that Black Myth: Wukong is going to live up to the Soulslike difficulty stand

Black Myth: Wukong was first seen nearly four years ago with a 13-minute pre-alpha gameplay video, and since then the game has maintained a steady course of popularity throughout development. Created by Chinese developer and publisher Game Science, Black Myth: Wukong is a narrative Soulsike RPG based loosely on a novel called Journey to the West , in which players take the role of a Monkey soldier inspired by Sun Wukong, or the Monkey King. As the "Destined One," players will journey across vast landscapes inspired by Chinese mythology, wielding powerful weapons and magic as they battle through fierce enem

Imagine my surprise the next day when, while blearily stumbling around the show floor and scoping out what was there before the big crowds could put me off ever venturing past the press area, I saw that [https://Blackmythwukongfans.com/ Black Myth Wukong Weapons|Https://Blackmythwukongfans.Com/] Myth: Wukong was not only playable at Gamescom, but had one of the biggest booths of the whole show, towering above the likes of Mortal Kombat 1 and Payda

In a statement provided to Windows Central , a Microsoft representative provided some official comments about Black Myth Wukong 's delay on Xbox consoles. Stating that the company is "excited for the launch" of the upcoming Xbox game , the spokesperson said that the console manufacturer is "working with Game Science to bring the game" to Xbox platforms. "We can't comment on the deals made by our partners with other platform holders," said Microsoft, "but we remain focused on making Xbox the best platform for gamers, and great games are at the center of th

While Black Myth: Wukong has been marketed as a Soulslike, and it certainly appears to have elements of Soulslike gameplay, it might not be as true to the genre as it should be to technically be classified as such. Unlike most genres, the Soulslike genre is a very particular one, as it is ultimately defined by its niche characteristics. As such, there are certain traditions a game must observe to be both technically classified and publicly recognized as a proper Soulslike, and although Black Myth: Wukong may observe some of those traditions, there is one key characteristic that may set it too far apart from the genre for it to find its home th

While some found the difficulty too much, others certainly didn't, and I spoke to one person who had queued up twice, totaling nearly five hours, who told me that they loved the Chinese mythology theming of Black Myth, that they loved Soulslikes and that it is simply "such a wonderful game." They also touched on the mechanics, something which others were keen to talk about. Even Elden Ring , 2022's Game of the Year , threw some fans of the genre for a loop, as many thought it was far too accessible to be considered a true Soulslike experience. Although the statement itself doesn't provide explicit answers to any lingering questions about Black Myth: Wukong 's postponed release on the platform, a report from a trusted insider suggests that there could be more to this situation than initially belie

After years of mystery, Black Myth: Wukong is really taking shape. Both the public, and fellow critics, have had almost universal praise for the game that's set to release in 2024 . Now if I could just get my hands on i

With how immensely powerful Sun Wukong is — at least, with how powerful he is according to Journey to the West — it might be difficult for Black Myth: Wukong to be a traditional Soulslike. Based on what has been revealed so far, Wukong will be facing some massive foes, so it's likely he could meet his match. However, considering what has been written about him, it might be a challenge to make him insignificant in any world. That's actually a good thing, as it would be a shame to play as a legendary warrior such as Wukong and for his supernatural abilities to feel underwhelming against enemies. Instead, Black Myth: Wukong should lean as heavily into Wukong's overpowered nature as possible, still providing a decent challenge, but simultaneously allowing players to feel more powerful than anything else in the wo
