I <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">took </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">screenshot of my last Overwatch </del>game <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">before the servers shut down where I earned three gold medals </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">three career bests</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">In </del>Overwatch <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">2</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">matches just sort </del>of <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">end. There’s no fanfare</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">no time </del>to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">reflect </del>on <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">how well you did. You can’t even see the scoreboard anymore once </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">game is over</del>. I’m <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">glad we have </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">real scoreboard, but we didn’t have to give up the medal completely, did</del>

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Controversial </del>to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">have him this low? Lucio is a ‘good vibes’ kind of guy, and while partying with him might help </del>when you'<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">re feeling low</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">he seems </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">bit of a fair</del>-<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">weather Support</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I'm not sure how helpful he'd be </del>in <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">sticky situations or with anything </del>that <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">required any level of emotional depth or assistance that went beyond sticking on some sick tunes</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Points for trying, but only j</del>

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Yesterday I took </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">look at how good each of the </del>[https://<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Overwatch2Fans</del>.com/ Overwatch 2 <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">esports</del>|<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Https</del>://overwatch2fans.com/] <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">2 Tanks would be at driving a tank </del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">We had some laughs, had some fun, but then it </del>was <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">time to put away childish toys and become </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">gamer. I played </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">few rounds of Overwatch 2 and, as is tradition, I lost badly</del>. The <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">fact D.Va is an expert tank driving </del>in <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">real life did not help me play any better as her</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I'm wounded. Lost. I feel like I can't go on. I need support. Emotional support. So then</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">let's rank all of </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Overwatch 2 Supports by how supportive they would be in an emotional cri</del>

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Moira is similar to Ana in that I imagine she'd be </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">very solutions-driven kind </del>of <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">friend. She's probably not here </del>for <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">you crying in the bathroom and would be more interested in compiling a six-step plan to get you back on track</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but I think she'd be far more willing to tolerate that one </del>of <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">those steps might </del>have <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">to be ‘sob in </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">bathroom for </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">little while’. She's </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">sort of friend who might put up </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">bit </del>of a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">front</del>, but <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">goes out </del>of <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">her way </del>to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">help you in secret ways. She needs to keep up her mystique, but she won't let a friend get hurt. We all need a Moira in our cor</del>

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Typically</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">when games try </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">tell their </del>in<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">-game story outside of </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">game</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">it’s because the narrative is a bit naff</del>. I <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">don’t mean stuff like </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Life is Strange or Tomb Raider comics, which both expand upon an existing story, I mean the likes </del>of <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Outriders’ recent short there to give backstory </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">establish the lore of the game. Maybe just... do that </del>in the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">game? But again, Overwatch is an exception to the rule. Overwatch’s character reveals feel like you’re reading a secret diary, it’s like you’re being let in on something special</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">not having a crumpled up piece of paper </del>with <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the word ‘BaCkStOrY’ written </del>on <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">it in crayon - this, by </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">way, is exactly what watching that Outriders short felt l</del>

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Tracer </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Soldier 76’s sexuality were confirmed in comics and other supplemental materials</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">and you’d struggle to see them mentioned in the game itself </del>with the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">exception </del>of a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">few small inclusions. Emily</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Tracer’s girlfriend, is an optional spray, and the time-zipping agent will mention her briefly in </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">piece </del>of <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">dialogue in King’s Row</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but beyond this it’s slim pickings for the gays </del>in <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Overwatch. With the sequel set to focus on narrative </del>to a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">significant degree, I sincerely hope Blizzard does a better job of embracing its queer characters instead of treating them like a dirty little sec</del>

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">If I see </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">skin I really love</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I can either grind through the </del>battle pass <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">to earn </del>it <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">or buy things outright</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Sure, they’re expensive, but it will run me far less than an infinite amount of boxes trying </del>to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">pull it. However</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">my past behaviour means </del>that <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">all of </del>my <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">accounts merging into a single entity with the launch </del>of <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Overwatch 2 means </del>I <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">already have most of </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">skins I would ever want</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Of course there remain a bunch of cosmetics I’d love to earn and will probably end up treating myself to in </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">coming months</del>, the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">repertoire of outfits for each character at my disposal is honestly quite overwhelming. I have 80+ unlocks for D.Va</del>, and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">that includes over twenty unique skins ranging from Black Cat to Cruiser. She was a real sticking point for me, </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">every new mech was almost taunting me as I tried my best </del>to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">earn them whenever a seasonal event rolled around. That struggle remains, but now it’s far more manageable.</del>

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">To </del>new <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">PvP maps were revealed</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Rome </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">New York City, as well as details </del>about the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">longer PvE maps designed for Story Mode. Each mission will have its own custom map </del>that <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">features day-night cycles </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">weather conditions. One of the missions shown during the deep dive featured </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">snowstorm that progresses throughout </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">level until it ends in a massive battle amidst a blizz

Zenyatta is a cold, unfeeling robot</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">He may offer some mystic advice that tries</del>, in <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">its own way</del>, to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">be helpful, but I don't </del>see <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">much of </del>it <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">being any useful. At best you get a fortune cookie </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">at worst you get HAL. Bottom of </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">l</del>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">It could be argued that Overwatch doesn’t need to waste time focusing on this stuff, pushing an "agenda" that simply takes away focus from actually playing </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">game. But it should, its queer characters deserve more than just </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">passing mention to keep us satisfied</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Explore these stories, show that Overwatch is worthy of the awards and nominations it has received for doing </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">bare minimum for representation. Two cisgender white homosexuals feels like </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">sanitised definition of diversity</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Where are the POC, transgender characters, and those who refuse to fit into neat little boxes? The universe is only growing with the coming sequel</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">and its grasp </ins>on <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">representation should do so along with

Blizzard needed to change its release model to make more money and get with </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">times, and there wasn’t really a way to do that without throwing </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">number at </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">end </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">making it free-to-play across all platforms</ins>. I <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">don’t mind this direction at all, and think it will result in </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">much better </ins>game <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">when all is said </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">done, but something about it does irk me</ins>.<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">

The thing is, </ins>Overwatch <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">pitches itself as a lovingly inclusive universe where all manner of people, robots</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">and other living beings can co-exist in harmony. Much of its lore explores past conflicts and moments </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">history</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but the sequel intends </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">focus </ins>on the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">present</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">If Blizzard can take time to flesh out talking animals amongst its cast, </ins>I’m <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">sure the queer characters also deserve </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">spotli</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">This goes the same for ultimates, as sometimes it is best </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">time </ins>when you <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">unleash your greatest ability rather than using it as soon as you can. You can get kills with D.Va's Self-Destruct or Reaper</ins>'<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">s Death Blossom</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">or you can wait for Reinhardt to knock people down to blow them

Overwatch 2 being </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">free-to-play live</ins>-<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">service is the right call</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Since the original game launched in 2016, we’ve seen games like Fortnite , Apex Legends , Destiny 2 , Genshin Impact , Warframe , and myriad others emerge and redefine what it means to progress </ins>in <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">a multiplayer landscape. Battle passes are a thing now, while the loot boxes </ins>that <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Blizzard once helped bring into the mainstream are frowned upon outside the freemium mobile space</ins>.

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">There was a time only </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">few short years ago when </ins>[https://<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Overwatch2fans</ins>.com/ Overwatch 2 <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">abilities</ins>|<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">https</ins>://overwatch2fans.com/] <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">was untouchable</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Blizzard’s hero shooter </ins>was a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">fresh, energetic entry in </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">genre that was slowly but surely growing stale</ins>. The <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">beloved developer saw this gap </ins>in <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the market and pounced upon it, delivering a diverse multiplayer experience that would hold our attention for years to come</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Fast forward to 2021</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">and </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">picture appears infinitely more bl</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Overwatch has received </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">lot </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">deserved praise and justified criticism </ins>for <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">its growing cast of characters</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">two </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">which </ins>have <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">been confirmed as members of the LGBT community. Tracer, </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">game’s cover star, is </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">lesbian whose partner has featured in </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">universe </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">number </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">times, while hardened marine Soldier 76 is also homosexual. This diversity is welcome, and </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">step above many other games out there</ins>, but <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">much </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the queer discussion surrounding Overwatch is pushed </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the sideli</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Sexuality is a defining part of your identity</ins>, and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the passion amongst fans to see this explored </ins>in the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">games is evident</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but I will admit it remains drenched in heteronormativity</ins>. I <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">committed </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">cardinal sin </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">searching for ‘Tracer </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Emily’ </ins>in <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Google images and was greeted with far more than </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">comic introducing their relationship</ins>, with <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">crudely animated porn primed </ins>on the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">male gaze being pushed more than anything e</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">As the years moved on </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">seasonal events began to repeat</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I fell out of love </ins>with <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Overwatch. I returned following </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">surprise debut </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Archives, which promised </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">more intricate delving into the lore behind my favourite operatives</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but it was </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">surface level exploration </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">narrative elements that simply didn’t do enough. A few skins caught my eye</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">tempting me to indulge </ins>in <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">free loot boxes and </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">grind for </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">couple alongside friends who returned for similar reas
</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Paladins, a free-to-play shooter which took </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">_ lot _ of inspiration from Overwatch</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">has a </ins>battle pass<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">, and </ins>it <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">functions brilliantly. Now imagine this with Blizzard’s budget</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I used </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">be filled with excitement when Overwatch introduced new seasonal events</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">hoping </ins>that my <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">favourite trio </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">heroes would receive skins </ins>I <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">could flaunt on </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">battlefield</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Now, I’m just indifferent, rolling my eyes as </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">same optional modes</ins>, the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">same skins</ins>, and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the same aesthetic are rolled out again </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">again </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">keep us ha</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">With a sequel, major characters will likely be reintroduced for a </ins>new <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">audience</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">especially the likes of Tracer </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Soldier 76. There’s no need to scream and shout </ins>about <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">being queer from </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">rooftops, but just make </ins>that <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">aspect of these characters clear in their history, </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">how it matters beyond </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">tick in </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">diversity box</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I care about the relationships and dynamics of queer people</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">especially when I can see it </ins>in <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">games like this</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">so the last thing I want is </ins>to see it <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">shoehorned in </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">immediately shied away from whenever </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">situation calls for</ins>
The latest revelation about </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">hero roster only underscores this furt</del>

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Let’s put our thinking caps on here - we’re not getting Overwatch Ground War</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">meaning that we were never going </del>to see <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">some kind </del>of <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">enormous</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">mayhem</del>-<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">filled match type. Although I’d like </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">battle royale mode </del>for Overwatch<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">, that’s not looking particularly likely either</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I’d assume </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">maximum number of players you could ever reasonably expect would be nine, increasing the standard 2-2-2 formation </del>to a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">beefier 3-3-3</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">or any other strategic permutation amounting to the same sum </del>of <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">overall heroes. The "sort of" clauses here are because the more recent tanks added </del>to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Overwatch’s roster are mostly aligned with one category, but adopt minor inspiration from the other one</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Ultimately, though, the main distinction has to do with whether or not the tank has </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">shield</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">which directly affects their ability </del>to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">function as </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">main tank</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">which in turn refers to how effectively they can use their status as a team anchor to control engagem</del>

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Main tanks can’t go anywhere, which is just a simple fact. </del>To <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">combat a main tank</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">you need damage</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">so if </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">other team runs two DPS </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">you run an off-tank</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">you’re going to feed ultimates like they’ve been brought up with a silver spoon</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">There’s just no way you’re running one support with two tanks and two DPS either</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">mostly for the same reason - it will affect the damage/healing balance per team </del>way <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">too much. So then, let's rank all </ins>of the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Overwatch 2 Supports by how supportive they </ins>would be <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">in an emotional cri</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Moira is similar </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Ana </ins>in <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">that I imagine she'd be a very solutions-driven kind of friend</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">She's probably not here for you crying in the bathroom </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">would be </ins>more <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">interested </ins>in <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">compiling </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">six-step plan to get you back on track</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but I think she'd be far more willing to tolerate that one of those steps might have </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">be ‘sob in the bathroom </ins>for <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">a little while’</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">She's the sort of friend who might put up a bit </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">a front, </ins>but <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">goes out of her way </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">help you in secret ways</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">She needs to keep up her mystique</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but she won't let </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">friend get hurt</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">We all need </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Moira in our cor</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Typically, when games try and tell their in-game story outside of the game, it’s because the narrative </ins>is <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">a bit naff. I don’t mean stuff like </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Life is Strange or Tomb Raider comics</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">which both expand upon an existing story, I mean the likes of Outriders’ recent short there to give backstory </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">establish the lore </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the game. Maybe just</ins>... <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">do that in </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">game? But again</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Overwatch is an exception </ins>to the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">rule</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Overwatch’s character reveals feel like you’re reading a secret diary</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">it’s like you’re being let in on something special</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">not having </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">crumpled up piece of paper with </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">word ‘BaCkStOrY’ written on it in crayon - this, by </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">way, is exactly what watching that Outriders short felt l</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Tracer and Soldier 76’s sexuality were confirmed in comics and other supplemental materials</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">and you’d struggle </ins>to see <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">them mentioned in the game itself with the exception </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">a few small inclusions. Emily, Tracer’s girlfriend, is an optional spray</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">and the time</ins>-<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">zipping agent will mention her briefly in </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">piece of dialogue in King’s Row, but beyond this it’s slim pickings </ins>for <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the gays in </ins>Overwatch. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">With </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">sequel set to focus on narrative </ins>to a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">significant degree</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I sincerely hope Blizzard does a better job of embracing its queer characters instead </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">treating them like </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">dirty little sec</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">If I see a skin I really love</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I can either grind through the battle pass to earn it or buy things outright</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Sure</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">they’re expensive</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but it will run me far less than an infinite amount of boxes trying to pull it. However</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">my past behaviour means that all of my accounts merging into a single entity with the launch of Overwatch 2 means I already have most of the skins I would ever want. Of course there remain a bunch of cosmetics I’d love to earn </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">will probably end up treating myself to in the coming months</ins>, the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">repertoire of outfits for each character at my disposal </ins>is <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">honestly quite overwhelming. I have 80+ unlocks for </ins>D.Va, and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">that includes over twenty unique skins ranging from Black Cat </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Cruiser</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">She was </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">real sticking point for me</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">and every new mech was almost taunting me as I tried my best </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">earn them whenever </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">seasonal event rolled around. That struggle remains</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but now it’s far more manageable.</ins>

To <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">new PvP maps were revealed</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Rome and New York City</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">as well as details about </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">longer PvE maps designed for Story Mode. Each mission will have its own custom map that features day-night cycles </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">weather conditions. One of the missions shown during the deep dive featured a snowstorm that progresses throughout the level until it ends in a massive battle amidst a blizz

Zenyatta is a cold</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">unfeeling robot</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">He may offer some mystic advice that tries</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">in its own </ins>way, to be <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">helpful, but I don't see much </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">it being any useful. At best you get </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">fortune cookie </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">at worst you get HAL</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Bottom of the l</ins>
Don’t get me wrong</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">this is definitely a me problem </del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but aside from pushing through the battle pass I’m now stuck waiting </del>to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">see what else awaits me </del>on <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the horizon.

To new PvP maps were revealed</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Rome </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">New York City</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">as well as details about the longer PvE maps designed for Story Mode. Each mission will have its own custom map that features day-night cycles </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">weather conditions. One </del>of <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the missions shown during the deep dive featured a snowstorm </del>that <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">progresses throughout </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">level until it ends in a massive battle amidst a blizz
</del>

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Despite my praise for the designs, </del>Overwatch is <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">not </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">game </del>with <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">in-depth characters - it’s all skin deep. Any attempt to flesh them out usually comes through fine print in the lore, promo reels, or external material like comic books. I understand why fans want these great designs to be built upon further, </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I appreciate that </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">hero shooter all about utilising powers and fast PvP play is not the ideal genre for deep, interconnected stories. Overwatch has two queer characters, which is more than most triple-A games</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but </del>it’s <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">hard to give it too much credit when their queerness has been so completely downplayed. It’s often lauded for its diversity - it even once had </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">GLAAD nomination </del>- <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but that fact is its two queer characters are white, cis, </del>and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">straight passing</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">while there are more playable animals and playable robots than there are playable Black women. That’s </del>not <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">too </del>much of <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">a stretch though, given that there are zero Black women in Overwatch’s heaving roster right now - Sojourn will join in Overwatch 2, but that feels too late for a game with playable 32 charact

While Overwatch 2 sees major changes for heroes who have been around since the first game, there are sweeping changes that affect everyone</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Some of these will temporarily boost your speed, and ultimate power bar , and pro players will keep these things in mind while they play and make quick decisi</del>

Right now I have almost everything I could ever want, and I’m smart enough now to avoid wasting money on currency unless there is something I desperately want. The battle pass is one of the few means of progression right now, with the character levelling system teased in earlier trailers abandoned until PvE rolls around. Seasonal skins that used to justify events are now available whenever we like, or a part of bundles that cycle through the store each and every day.

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Blizzard also revealed </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">highly</del>-<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">anticipated update </del>to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">WoW Classic: Burning Crusade Classic</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">The first</del>-<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">ever expansion </del>to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">World of Warcraft </del>is <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">getting re</del>-<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">released sometime </del>in <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">2021. Classic players will be able </del>to choose <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">if they want to keep their characters in the Classic Era or advance them into the Burning Crusade Era </del>of the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">game</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Burning Crusade Class will </del>be <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">included with no additional purchase for all World of Warcraft subscrib</del>

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Before you post this on your angry gamer subreddit, hear me out</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I think paid video game </del>loot boxes <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">are vile</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">They are predatory </del>in <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">nature</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">designed </del>to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">exploit players and obscure </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">real cost </del>of <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">in-game items</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I think every country in the world should outlaw them</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">and I’m glad Overwatch got rid of them</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">At the same time</del>, Overwatch <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">2’s monetization </del>is <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">terrible. In </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">transition to free-to-play</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">we lost the ability to earn things for free</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Though I’m mostly positive on </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">gameplay changes</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">it’s hard </del>to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">ignore that Overwatch 2’s progression is worse </del>in <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">almost every way</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I don't love admitting it</del>, but Overwatch <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">was better </del>off <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">with loot bo</del>

<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I can buy skins outright</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but they used to be earned through chance</del>, so the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">value of each skin is twisted in a way that the community is </del>going to <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">take </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">long time to reconcile</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">In reality is it </del>no <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">different to how things are done in games like Apex Legends or Fortnite </del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">with </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">much easier way</del>, and <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">thus it feels unfair</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; It’s more of a live-service update </ins>with <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">fancier menus </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">quality of life improvements instead of </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">fundamental evolution of what came before</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">except </ins>it’s a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">whole new game </ins>- <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">although it’s free </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">your progress carries over</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">so it’s </ins>not <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">really that </ins>much of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">anything</ins>.

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">The benefit of a battle pass, compared to a loot box, is you get to see what you’re buying. You know exactly what you get for your $10 before you buy </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">premium tier </ins>- <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">though, you still don’t get to choose what you’re buying. If there’s a specific skin, victory pose, or voiceline you’re after, your only option is </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">buy Coins with real mo

So, let’s crunch the numbers</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">In a 1v1, it doesn’t matter who you pick (although you should probably play DPS or an off</ins>-<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">tank, realistically speaking). 2v2 means you’re missing one role, which means you need </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">outsmart your opponent. 3v3 </ins>is <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">a 1-1</ins>-<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">1 formation. 4v4 has the opposite strategic makeup to 2v2, </ins>in <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">that you can field one of each role and tactically decide which one </ins>to choose <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">for your fourth player. 5v5 is shit. 6v6 is how it is now. 7v7 gives you one extra space on top </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">having one hero from each role and sub-role, and 8v8 does </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">same but with two extras</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">9v9 is 3v3, which actually sounds great provided it would hypothetically </ins>be <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">implemented alongside larger m</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I’ll start by comparing the two systems</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">There were two ways to earn cosmetics in Overwatch: opening </ins>loot boxes <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">and spending Credits</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">You earned a loot box every level and could get three more each week for winning games </ins>in <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Arcade mode. During a seasonal event</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">you could typically earn five to ten more for free. Boxes contained four random items of varying rarity but would sometimes reward Credits equivalent </ins>to the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">price </ins>of <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">a skin at that rarity</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">In other words</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">legendary Credits would be enough to buy a legendary skin. Credits could also be earned by completing matches</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Receiving duplicate items also rewarded Credits</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">though just barely a pitta

</ins>Overwatch <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">2 </ins>is <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">right around </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">corner, and even though it shouldn’t really exist </ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">there’s an air of excitement around its launch. The first [https://Overwatch2Fans.com/ Overwatch 2 maps|https://overwatch2fans</ins>.<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">com/] completely reinvented </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">online shooter space when it launched in 2016</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">and deserves </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">be spoken about </ins>in <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the same breath as gaming’s all time greats</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">It was fresh, fast, and fiendishly compelling</ins>, but <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the very fact a sequel exists highlights how much </ins>Overwatch <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">has fallen </ins>off <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the pace. The latest revelation about the hero roster only underscores this furt</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Let’s put our thinking caps on here - we’re not getting Overwatch Ground War</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">meaning that we were never going </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">see some kind of enormous</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">mayhem-filled match type. Although I’d like </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">battle royale mode </ins>for <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Overwatch, that’s not looking particularly likely either</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">I’d assume the maximum number of players you could ever reasonably expect would be nine</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">increasing the standard 2-2-2 formation </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">a beefier 3-3-3</ins>, or <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">any other strategic permutation amounting to the same sum of overall heroes. So now we’ve got </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">possibility window spanning one to n</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Tanks, meanwhile, are divided into main tank and off-tank categories. The former includes Reinhardt, Orisa, Winston, and sort of Sigma, whereas the latter subset is occupied by Zarya, Roadhog, D.Va</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">and sort of Wrecking Ball. The "sort of" clauses here are because </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">more recent tanks added to Overwatch’s roster are mostly aligned with one category</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but adopt minor inspiration from </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">other one</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Ultimately, though</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the main distinction has </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">do with whether or not </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">tank has a shield, which directly affects their ability to function as a main tank, which in turn refers to how effectively they can use their status as a team anchor to control engagem
</ins>

<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Main tanks can’t go anywhere, which is just a simple fact. To combat a main tank</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">you need damage</ins>, so <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">if </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">other team runs two DPS and you run an off-tank, you’re </ins>going to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">feed ultimates like they’ve been brought up with </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">silver spoon</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">There’s just </ins>no <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">way you’re running one support with two tanks and two DPS either</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">mostly for </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">same reason </ins>- <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">it will affect the damage/healing balance per team way too much. As a result</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the most basic logic available </ins>to <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">us suggests each team will be made up of </ins>a <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">main tank, two DPS</ins>, and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">two healers - no room for off-tanks</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">And, as </ins>with <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">all metas</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">team formations are often mirrored</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Gr</ins>
Splatoon and Call of Duty both charge full price for their updates on what came before</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">and Overwatch 2 at least avoids that. But it doesn’t mitigate how dated </del>[https://<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">overwatch2fans</del>.com/ <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">overwatch </del>2 <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">abilities</del>|https://overwatch2fans.com/] <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">2’s structure already feels, and how much that contrasts with how </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">initial game felt at launch. Overwatch </del>is <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">a hero shooter, and part of its popularity has been </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">affection for its heroes, not to mention how differently each of its roster plays</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">There are characters with pistols</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">shotguns, bazookas, ice blasters, revolvers, sniper rifles, mech suits, and bows and arrows, but whatever the weapon </del>is<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">, Blizzard seems dead set on aiming them all directly at its f

As </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">- very - casual Overwatch fan </del>, the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">characters have always been my favourite thing about the hero shooter. Splatoon 3 just enjoyed a stellar launch too , although not without criticism that it too would be better served in </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">modern environment as an ever-evolving service game rather than </del>a <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">brand new

I don’t really need an Overwatch story mode or an Overwatch spin-off to exist; I’m happy believing I’d love them if they ever came to life, and I don’t need to test </del>that <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">theory. A single player futuristic Western revenge drama with Ashe and McCree as </del>the <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">leads? Yes please. A Netflix adaptation of Overwatch’s main story with Maisie Williams as Tracer? Sounds amazing - please never make </del>it<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">. I understand why fans want these great designs to be built upon further, and I appreciate that a hero shooter all about utilising powers and fast PvP play is not the ideal genre for deep, interconnected stories. Overwatch has two queer characters, which is more than most triple-A games, but it’s hard to give it too much credit when their queerness has been so completely downplayed. It’s often lauded for its diversity - it even once had a GLAAD nomination - but that fact is its two queer characters are white, cis, and straight passing, while there are more playable animals and playable robots than there are playable Black women. That’s not too much of a stretch though, given that there are zero Black women in Overwatch’s heaving roster right now - Sojourn will join in Overwatch 2, but that feels too late for a game with playable 32 charact

I can buy skins outright, but they used to be earned through chance, so the value of each skin is twisted in a way that the community is going to take a long time to reconcile. In reality is it no different to how things are done in games like Apex Legends or Fortnite , with the very best skins costing around $15-$20, but we were used to earning them in a much easier way, and thus it feels unfair. For someone like me with more skins than sense, I feel like a dragon sitting atop a mountain of gold unaware of how they stumbled across such riches. The battle pass is one of the few means of progression right now, with the character levelling system teased in earlier trailers abandoned until PvE rolls around. Burning Crusade Class will be included with no additional purchase for all World of Warcraft subscrib

Before you post this on your angry gamer subreddit, hear me out. I think paid video game loot boxes are vile. They are predatory in nature, designed to exploit players and obscure the real cost of in-game items. I think every country in the world should outlaw them, and I’m glad Overwatch got rid of them. At the same time, Overwatch 2’s monetization is terrible. In the transition to free-to-play, we lost the ability to earn things for free. Though I’m mostly positive on the gameplay changes, it’s hard to ignore that Overwatch 2’s progression is worse in almost every way. I don't love admitting it, but Overwatch was better off with loot bo

Finally, Xbox has implemented How Long to Beat , giving you a heads up on how long on average it’ll take you to go for a completionist run or just a main story playthrough. With gaming’s approach to length changing thanks to subscription services such as Game Pass and PS Plus, features editor Andrew King argues that this is long overdue, letting people find shorter nuggets to power through in their free time, or bigger time sinks for those who prefer a longer adventure with more commitm

Finally, while Blizzard did share some updates on the mobile game Diablo Immortal, no release for the game was given. Overwatch is a hero shooter, and part of its popularity has been the affection for its heroes, not to mention how differently each of its roster plays. There are characters with pistols, shotguns, bazookas, ice blasters, revolvers, sniper rifles, mech suits, and bows and arrows, but whatever the weapon is, Blizzard seems dead set on aiming them all directly at its f

As a - very - casual Overwatch fan , the characters have always been my favourite thing about the hero shooter.
