The Best Games Of E3 2018
As a fan of Bungie’s multiplayer-focused first person shooter, Destiny 2 , I always come back to it when new content emerges. However, I’d be lying if I said that the expansions that have been released have been top notch. Destiny 2: Forsaken , the next big expansion for the popular game, aims to rectify that with loads of new content that will not only bring me back but have me excited to play when it releases in September. Plus, the bow and arrow is far and away the best weapon Destiny will have to offer. That alone is a good enough reason to come b
As another point to all of this, there will, presumably, be no waypoints to follow. This means you may run into areas you're not ready for but the game lets you go at your own pace. This is all to help the player live out their Samurai fantasy dream. Ultimately the game lets you go wherever you w

Sucker Punch’s open-world game set in feudal Japan blew us away at E3 2018. With stark visuals and an approach that favored realism, Ghost of Tsushima is trying to create a Samurai adventure that is as authentic as possible. Sucker Punch is clearly working hard to ensure Ghost of Tsushima delivers a compelling game and narrative without going over-the-top. There is still a lot of Ghost of Tsushima that is left unsaid, but for an initial tease, what Sucker Punch brought to E3 was enough to leave us intrigued. It says a lot that something as seemingly simple as leaves moving on the ground had everyone talk
After an extensive gameplay demo during last year’s Ubisoft E3 briefing, there was a sense of momentum building towards this year’s showing that the multiplayer piracy title would get plenty of new information and footage as it prepared for launch later this year. That was, until last month, when Skull and Bones received its second delay in as many years and the French publisher confirmed that they would not be bringing the title to E3 this year to allow the team to continue working hard on the project.
There’s no doubt that Sucker Punch Productions is a talented developer having previously delivered two stellar franchises. To see them do something so different and pull it off as well as they have, however, is masterful. Beautiful and deadly, Ghost of Tsushima is shaping up to be a real showcase for the PS4 and the studio. We still have a ways off before the game finally launches, but we’re excited to see what else Ghost of Tsushima has in store for us.
Early trailers for Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man had most convinced that the developer was headed in the right direction with its Marvel adaptation. The swinging feels like a dream, the combat is fast-paced and offers plenty of opportunities for experimentation, and the story seems to offer fun twists on existing Spidey lore. To put it simply, Spider-Man feels like a Spider-Man game and that’s all one can hope
Back in February, EA revealed during an earnings call that they would be releasing two new entries in two of their prominent franchises by March 31, 2020, with the first being a new Need for Speed. While next to nothing is known about the upcoming arcade racer, the publisher did share that fans won’t need to keep an eye on E3 this year for the first look, instead hinting that Gamescom could likely be the destination where the newest Need for Speed gets a full reveal.
At the very end of Bethesda’s E3 press conference last year, Todd Howard wrapped up the presentation with two brief teases for the developer’s next pair of open world RPGs. The first was a brand-new IP set in space known as Starfield, which Howard has since confirmed during a PAX East panel is still very early in development and will not appear during the studio’s briefing this year.
One of the most shocking announcements in gaming news last year came in mid-November, when Sony dropped the bombshell that they would not be attending the following year’s E3 in any capacity. With no press conference or space-consuming booth on the floor, PS4 owners will have to continue waiting for updates on Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part II, Concrete Genie and the rest of Sony’s first-party lineup.
All you need to do is see Resident Evil 2 running on the RE7 engine to be convinced that this is something special. It’s rare that a developer gets the opportunity to take what it has learned about a series and then apply it to earlier games, but Resident Evil 2 seems to be that culmination. There are so many little touches in Resident Evil 2 remake that it actually feels like a new game, despite the setting and the story being exactly the same (based on what we played). There is no doubt this game is going to be a cant-miss for horror fans early next y
